Mirena-Eloira-IUD-malpositioned

The Mirena/ Eloira is an IUCD or IUD (intra-uterine device) useful to control excessive menstrual bleeding during peri- menopausal periods.
Frequently it may be mal-positioned and descend into the cervix.
Shown here are 2 images:
1st in the normal position in body and fundus

2nd is mal-positioned in the cervix:

This position of the IUD/ Eloira can result in poor effectiveness in control of bleeding.

Polycystic-ovaries-in-young-woman

Interesting case: this young lady was initially diagnosed with possible hemorrhagic cyst or endometrioma of the ovaries.

Transabdominal usg scan did not given a clear diagnosis.

TVS scan revealed a totally different picture: both ovaries showed a full blown PCOD (polycystic ovaries disease) pattern.

Moral: always try to do a TVS scan whenever possible.

Normal fetal Doppler 3rd trimester

A normal fetal Doppler at 34 weeks.
MCA or middle cerebral artery and umbilical artery show nothing remarkable.

But is the ductus venosus really normal. Perhaps the diastolic flow appears to be reduced. A follow up Doppler ultrasound is advisable.
