Adenomyomatosis gallbladder fundus, sonography

The gallbladder fundus is narrowed and wall thickened. Such a focal thickening of the gallbladder is called segmental adenomyomatosis. A pretty rare finding on ultrasound. 

Right hemiagenesis thyroid with Hashimoto's thyroiditis, ultrasound study

A case of Hashimoto's thyroiditis. On thyroxine therapy. 

However, sonography shows congenital absence of the right lobe of thyroid. 

Power Doppler ultrasound shows hypervascular left lobe. 

Final diagnosis:

Hashimoto's thyroiditis with right hemiagenesis. 

Ureteral calculi in distal third, sonography

Distal ureteral calculi with hydronephrosis left kidney. 

Advanced nodular cirrhosis liver with ascites, sonography

This patient has advanced nodular cirrhosis of liver:

The liver is surrounded by ascitic fluid. 

Liver is nodular and shrunken as seen in ultrasound images above. 

More ultrasound images of the cirrhotic liver bathed in ascitic fluid. 

Portal vein on color Doppler ultrasound, shows forward normal flow or centripetal flow towards the liver. However, portal vein is dilated at 14 mm.

Spleen is mildly enlarged with dilation of the splenic vein. 14 mm. On color Doppler ultrasound of the spleen. 

Massive ascites seen in the ultrasound images above. Bowel seen floating in fluid. 

Final diagnosis: cirrhosis liver with portal hypertension. Severe ascites.

Normal adult echocardiography or echo

A normal echocardiography or echo or cardiac ultrasound using B-mode sonography and color Doppler of adult heart.

Above is a subcostal or subxiphoid view of the heart. All 4 chambers are seen. 

Above are 2 PLAX or parasternal long axis views showing the left atrium, left ventricle and aorta. 

PLAX view above shows normal color Doppler flow across the aortic valve. 

PLAX view color Doppler images above show normal flow across the mitral valve. 

Finally normal 4 chambers view with all 4 chambers of the heart visible in the above color Doppler ultrasound image.

Large mass in head of pancreas, sonography

A pretty large mass in the pancreatic head. 

Moderate internal vascularity on color Doppler ultrasound. 

Ultrasound images below show the hypoechoic mass.

Final diagnosis: high probability of carcinoma pancreas.

Prostate utricle cyst, sonography

A typical prostatic utricle cyst on ultrasound. 

Transabdominal ultrasound shows a midline cyst of prostate. 

Color Doppler ultrasound shows no abnormal vascularity. 

Such midline cysts of prostate are not uncommon. Usually asymptomatic. However, sometimes may produce obstruction to urine outflow.
